Dr. Richard Gower and Marycliff Allergy Specialists |
Richard G. Gower, MD, FACAAI, FAAAAI, FACP, is a practicing allergist/immunologist at Marycliff Allergy Specialists in Spokane, Washington. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine and on the staff of Sacred Heart Medical Center and Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane. Currently, he is Past President of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology, and a Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, and the American College of Physicians.
Education
After receiving his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver, Dr. Gower did a residency in internal medicine at the University of Miami Affiliated Hospitals in Miami, Florida. He completed a fellowship in allergy/clinical immunology and vasculitis at the University of Colorado Medical Center in Denver.
Research Leadership Dr. Gower has been primary investigator in over 107 clinical studies on the treatment of asthma, allergic rhinitis/conjunctivitis, sinusitis, bronchitis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Dr. Gower has presented papers at national and international meetings concerning diseases of the respiratory tract and is the author of several publications.
Awareness and action Dr. Gower is past president of the Intermountain West Allergy Association, Western Society of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, Washington State Society of Internal Medicine, and is a member of numerous professional societies. He is currently serving on the Executive Committee of the ACAAI Board of Regents as Immediate Past President of ACAAI.
He is also Immediate Past Chair of the ACAAI Public Awareness and Education Campaign. A major goal of the national campaign is to educate the public about allergies and asthma. Dr. Gower addressed these important issues on Capitol Hill on Wednesday May 6, 2009 at AANMA’s national asthma screening day
Suzanne Levitch, ARNP Suzanne Levitch, ARNP has been an integral part of Marycliff Allergy Specialists since 2004. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Nursing at Washington State University and is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Practice NP. Suzanne assists Dr. Gower daily in the diagnosis, treatment and management of allergic, asthmatic and immunological diseases, and has many years of experience in clinical research studies involving allergy, sinusitis, bronchitis, asthma, chronic obstructive lung disease, vaccine, urticaria and hereditary angioedema. She has presented at the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology’s national convention in Boston, MA and at the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology and World Allergy and Asthma Congress in Geneva, Switzerland. She has also been author/co- author of several manuscripts published in various medical journals. Suzanne is an active member of the American Academy of Nurser practitioners and a member of the American Society of Allergy Nurses. She regularly attends scientific conferences through the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, Intermountain West Allergy Association and American Society of Allergy Nurses. Suzanne previously worked at Rockwood Clinic as a Nurse Practitioner. |
